On Friday 27th December the great and the good of both Crewe United and Colin Valley turned out for the annual Morgan Denny Memorial game at Crewe Park.
It was again another great occasion in which both clubs for whom Morgan played to raise money for the NI Children’s Hospice which was a charity that was very close to Morgan’s heart. It was fantastic to see the Denny and Heath families again and the support they show every year is testimony to Morgan’s legacy and the will to remember him now and in years to come. Our sincere thanks especially to Maria, Ronan and Aoibhin as always for their support and their continued strength is an inspiration to us all.
Crewe ran out 5-4 winners and it was especially great to see former Crewe players Sean Keenan and Tomas ‘Tucker’ Scullion back for Christmas and pulling on the Crewe shirt before heading back to Australia and Canada respectively. The Crewe Family never really leaves!
A big thank you to Tom Hall and Jim Hetherington for organising the Colin Valley team and for all the players who participated and those who came up to support the event. Over the past 12 months we have managed to raise over £2,000 for the Charity and if anyone would like to donate please click on the link here to donate though the Just Giving Page. We look forward to next years game and more money being raised for a fantastic charity.
