What a week — and what a weekend — for Crewe United and our Academy! 🔴⚪️
It has been a fantastic few days for everyone connected with the club.
🏆 Our founder, Tom McKenna, was recognised with the Regional People’s Award, presented by the legendary Pat Jennings.
🏗️ Funding for our new 3G pitch and changing facilities was also announced by the Minister — a hugely exciting step forward for the future of Crewe United and our wider community.
And then there was the football…
⚽ Friday night football for our boys
⚽ Saturday morning football for our boys
⚽ Sunday morning football for our girls
⚽ Sunday tournaments for our 2019s
A busy weekend across the Academy, with our players getting out there, representing the badge, developing and, most importantly, enjoying their football.
The weekend flew by, and now we’re straight back into another week of training! 💪⚽
A huge thank you to all our coaches, parents, volunteers and sponsors. Your commitment, support and time make everything that happens at Crewe United possible.

🔴⚪️ 2019 at the Crusaders Tournament 🔴⚪️
What an afternoon for the boys at the Crusaders tournament! 💪⚽️ Both teams gave absolutely everything, played some brilliant football and, most importantly, had a fantastic time together.
The Greens got off to a great start, showing plenty of energy, teamwork and determination. There were some brilliant attacking moments, with Jessie grabbing one of the highlights of the day with a long-range effort that somehow found its way into the net! 😂 He had already turned away thinking the chance was gone and didn’t even realise he’d scored until afterwards!
The group games continued with some really competitive matches. The boys defended brilliantly when needed, created plenty of chances and showed great character against some very good opposition. There were plenty of nervy moments, big tackles, great saves and fantastic attacking play throughout the day. Every player played their part and the effort from start to finish was outstanding. 👏🏻
The Crewe United Blues were also fantastic throughout their group games, showing great defensive strength and attacking flair. Some brilliant goal-line clearances and last-ditch defending kept things tight, while the boys continued to create chances at the other end. There were some excellent saves and brilliant individual performances throughout the team, with everyone giving their all. 🛡️🙌🏻
There was so much to be proud of. The standard of football, effort, teamwork and attitude from both teams was brilliant. They played against some excellent teams, never gave up and showed exactly what they are capable of. Most importantly, they had loads of fun along the way! ❤️
A massive well done to every player, and a huge thank you to the coaches, parents and everyone who supported the boys. Two brilliant teams who should be incredibly proud of themselves. 👏🏻⚽️

The Crewe United 2015 Juniors took on Lisburn Youth at Crewe Park this weekend in what turned out to be a tough test for the boys.
The team gave everything from the first whistle to the last, working tirelessly and battling right to the end. Unfortunately, the result went against us, but there wasn’t a single player who could be faulted for their effort and endeavour. 💪⚽️
Lewis was deservedly named POTM after an outstanding all-action performance. 👏
Plenty of positives to take from a tough game. Well done, boys! ❤️🤍

2020 Juniors – Laurelhill
A super morning of football for our 2020 Juniors at Laurelhill! It was fantastic to see everyone working their socks off from start to finish, showing great effort, teamwork and determination. There was plenty of attacking football, strong defending and, most importantly, lots of smiles and enjoyment. It was also brilliant to see everyone getting themselves on the scoresheet!
Adam brought his usual energy and enthusiasm to the pitch. He put in some excellent tackles, worked hard to track back and support the defence, and never stopped battling for the team. It was fantastic to see his hard work rewarded with a few goals as well. A really energetic all-round performance from Adam!
Cian showed some excellent footwork throughout the morning and looked very composed when he had the ball at his feet. He made some great passes, linked up well with his teammates and showed good awareness of what was happening around him. He also got himself on the scoresheet, capping off a great performance.
Charlie O put in a huge shift, covering plenty of ground with some fantastic runs up and down the pitch. He worked hard defensively, making some great challenges and helping the team when they were under pressure. He also showed his attacking ability by getting forward and finding the back of the net. A brilliant effort from Charlie!
Charlie M had his shooting boots on today, showing great determination and enthusiasm throughout the game. He worked hard to move the ball up the line, took on defenders with confidence and created some great opportunities for his teammates. His hard work was rewarded with well-deserved goals, and he continued to work tirelessly throughout, always tracking back and helping out defensively whenever needed. A fantastic all-round performance from Charlie!
POTM Cohen showed excellent footwork, strong tackling and blocking ability, while remaining composed and confident on the ball. He made good decisions under pressure, worked tirelessly defensively, and was a constant threat going forward, contributing plenty of goals.
A brilliant morning from the whole team. Fantastic effort, great teamwork and plenty of goals — well done, lads! 👏⚽️
⚽🔴⚪️ A fantastic effort from the 2019 Juniors today! 🔴⚪️⚽
Our first game against Oxford Sunnyside was a really close contest. The boys worked incredibly hard and showed plenty of determination throughout, with some great football played along the way. It was a game that could have gone either way, and the lads can be really proud of their efforts! ⚽👏
Next up was Hillsborough Boys in a very physical game, but the Juniors were more than ready for the challenge! 💪🔥 They put together some excellent passing moves, worked hard for each other and produced a really convincing team performance. 👏⚽
⭐ All the boys were fantastic today, giving everything for the team and showing great teamwork from start to finish. It made picking a Player of the Match a difficult one!
🏆 Player of the Match: Tommy! 🏆
A massive effort from Tommy today and a well-deserved POTM after a fantastic performance! 👏⚽
Well done to all the boys — another great morning of football, teamwork and plenty to be proud of! 🔴⚪️⚽
Crewe Colts Match Report
Lovely morning in Laurelhill with some lovely football played.
The boys done brilliant, I loved a few bits of play where they strung 2/3/4 passes together and got the ball up the pitch and got there rewards.
The best thing today was the listening, when asked to tackle that wee bit more, everyone stepped up and got stuck in, so very pleased at that from a coaching point of view.
Donnacha was in there with the tackling, putting his body on the line and blocking some hard shots. He got in some good positions up the pitch too.
Harry’s dribbling and use of his body to protect the ball was brilliant, carried the ball well and got his rewards. Some brilliant finishes.
Rory was up and down the pitch all day, loads of energy, passing, shots and tackles. Couple great long range efforts again today.
Paul was all over the pitch today too, some great tackles and passing. He always got back to help his team mates defend and after a whack on the head from the football, came straight back on and never stopped.
Oisin today is our player of the match, he carried the ball well, tackled well and done some lovely dribbling with sots to follow and got his rewards but best of all was his passing. Lovely all round performance and a big happy birthday too.
Thanks to everyone and I hope everyone had a great morning.

What a great day the boys had playing on grass pitches which is a completely different test for them 💪
All boys rotated positions and all boys done nets everyone got on the score sheet and we didn’t concede a single goal in all our games.
Brodie and Fionn S had their shooting boots on today some unbelievable individual goals and also some great team goals on display today. Both battled hard up front and it really paid off 🥅
Hunter and Daniel were excellent today Hunter pressed really well and got his rewards for it and dc took charge of the midfield creating some great opportunities and scored a cracker solo goal of his own ⚽️
POTM was Joshua, from a great defensive performance to a cracker stint up front pressing for fun and getting amongst the goals he was outstanding every position he played. A very mature performance from him today 🏅
Overall the boys had a great day. Physically demanding on the grass but they got stuck in and showed how far they’re coming as a group 💪
