🔴⚪️ Crewe 2015 Juniors vs Hillsborough Boys Juniors 🔴⚪️

A local derby for our boys on a cold and blustery morning, and Crewe started superbly. From the opening whistle, sharp attacking play from Cillian S, Culann and Ryan caused real problems for the Hillsborough defence.

At the back, Lakes, Michael and Lewis were brave and composed, cutting out most Hillsborough attacks. Crewe almost took a deserved lead when a great corner from Ryan was met by Cillian B, whose header went just wide.

In midfield, Luke T worked tirelessly, while Cillian B and Cillian S continued to threaten going forward. Jacob and Luke G brought great energy from the sideline, and it was Jacob’s excellent free-kick delivery that created the breakthrough. Cillian S timed his run perfectly, beat the offside trap, rounded the keeper and finished calmly to put Crewe 1–0 up.

After half time, Crewe invited a bit of pressure by moving away from their usual passing game. Hillsborough pushed forward, but Michael, Lewis and Lakes stood firm. Lewis in particular was outstanding, producing strong tackles and showing great composure on the ball.

With five minutes remaining, Hillsborough earned another corner, and this time Crewe couldn’t clear their lines, allowing Hillsborough to grab a late equaliser. Given the tough weather conditions, a draw was probably a fair result.

⭐ Player of the Match: Lewis, for an outstanding all-round performance.

A big thank you to all our parents for their continued support, and to our sponsors Carnbrooke Meats, Pizza Co. Lisburn for the Player of the Match vouchers, and CT Gaelic Coaching for the Player of the Match trophy.

⚽️ 2014s Match Report ⚽️

Today Crewe 2014 juniors took a journey accross belfast to Belvoir 3g to take on a very strong annalong team who have went unbeaten in the league over 10 games and who previously defeated our lads 3-0 not too long ago. That was literally my team talk done for motivation as the lads knew how much that previous 3-0 scoreline didn't reflect how the game went.

From the 1st whistle it was a very high quality game of football, both teams were going at eachother in a very well contested first 15 minutes. Our 3 defenders Bobby, james and Conan were cleaning up well at the back, with Joel and mason battling hard in midfield which was a very tough task as annalong had a few very decent players in and around there.

A few times Caolan and Carter skipped past their opponents and linked up with Leo to create a few half chances but annolong stood strong. Annalong took the lead around the 15 minute mark when a nice pass found its way through our tight defence and their striker finished well.

Our lads took this set back very well, puffed their chests out and took control of the game. Leo recieved the ball high up the pitch, danced past 3 or 4 players and got hacked down for a free kick. He hit a fierce low striker making the keeper palm the ball away only for the sharp thinking anticipation from Joel to get there first and fire it in for an equaliser. What a celebration too as he ran up the pitch and done an acrobatic cartwheel 🤸. We battled back and forth threw to half time with it being level. Our lads came in pumped knowing they were wanting this game more than the opposition.

Second half started with james brankin and zach standing out well, james was breaking up the play very well in midfield and driving foward with zach using his strength and skills on numerous occasions to get us on the front foot. A loose ball landed to skipper mason in midfield and within a split second he played a peach of a pass through to the lethal Leo to slot it past their oncoming goalkeeper to put us 2-1 ahead fully deserved.

We continued controlling the game and working extremely hard as a team, not giving up on any loose passes and not giving annolong a second on the ball, caolan and carters work rate today on the right and left wings was unreal today, chasing down everything and earning us corners and throw ins from dead in balls.

Leo was spinning their defenders in webs literally beating 3 or 4 men a time with ease. We nearly scored another 2 or 3 as zach hit the post and Carter had the rebound stole from him then caolan play a high looping ball to Carter who jumped with a back sideways upside down scorpion type shot which hit the side netting, if that went in he would have been nominated for the puskas award!!

The last 5 minutes annalong threw everything at our lads and this is where the moment of the match came from, in the dying seconds annalong got threw one on one, dandan rushed out and made a fantastic save but it fell perfectly to their player who volleyed it straight towards an empty net! Out of nowhere Joel kennedy came flying accross the line, blocked it with his chest and volleyed it up the pitch. A heroic goalline clearance which earned us the victory!!

Unbelievable performance today from all 11 players and a very proud coach 👏 A great way to end the league games before Christmas. Well done lads, the sky's the limit 💪🏼

🔴 2016 Colts 🔴

Great performance from the boys in a very entertaining game against a jets team that has been flying recently.

The boys came from behind twice with goals from Rhys and Jude.

All of them worked their socks off, closing down every ball and played some lovely passes when in possession. They dug in right to the end and got rewarded for all their hard work.

The winning goal was scored by Joseph with the last kick of the game!

Roy Kennedy Fuels MOTM was Joseph. He worked hard all game with and without the ball all and in the end he got his reward.

⚽️🔴2018 Girls⚽️🔴

Well done to the girls today for their hard work and determination against Berlin Swifts.

Every girl gave it their all on the pitch and showed off all the skills we have been doing over the past couple of months at training. I am so proud to be their coach and see the progress of every member of our team.

Our POTM went to Duibheasa who very bravely took a ball to her face and went on to score some goals showing her ability to get up and keep going!! Super effort from the whole team 😊
