2015 girls v Lisburn Rangers 2015
Today we saw two back to back games against Lisburn Rangers for our girls, with a mixture of players throughout both games.
As the first game kicked off against a team we have always struggled against the girls were asked to go enjoy themselves and play with a smile on their faces.
Starting Lineup
GK - Abbie
Defence - Bella, Isla (Captain)
Midfield - Maddie, Laila,.Izzy
Striker - Talia
Subs - Roise, LK, Eloise
The girls kicked the game off with a blistering tempo and went 1 up within the first few seconds, this set the tone for the rest of the game as the girls were at full speed throughout the whole game.
Abbie started off in goals due to illness to our regular GKs and for much if the first Abbie was an enjoyable spectator like us coaches.
The way the girls pressed high up the field allowed Bella and Isla to keep a high defensive line and mop up any LR attacks.
Maddie, Izzy had their opponents in a tail spin at times with their dazzling footwork, with both girls getting a couple of goals each.
Talia was like a rampaging horse up front and nabbing a few first half goals for her efforts.
Laila in the middle of the park was absolutely exceptional today - definitely back to the player we know she can be, there wasn't a blade of grass that Laila didn't cover today, also nipped in and grabbed a goal for herself which was also richly deserved.
As changes were made Roise,.Eloise and LK were introduced, with Izzy filling in for Abbie in goals, normally making a few changes can disrupt a performance but these girls came on and added great quality with LK being as solid as a brick wall, Roise and Eloise coming on and adding a great attacking threat, the goals were coming thick and fast with Abbie making up for lost time and stepping up and getting her name on the score sheet.
Today's first game showed how far the girls have come on with today's performance they showed at "their age group" what they can do to teams especially against a team that gives us really tough games each time we play eachother.
Their understanding of the game and instructions is clear for all to see what this team have achieved these past few months is incredible and it's all credit to each and every player that played today and the rest of the girls that were sadly unavailable due to illness.
This squad of girls are an absolute treat to coach and we are four lucky coaches.

2015/16 girls v Lisburn Rangers 2015/16
Game two against Lisburn Rangers
Starting Line Up
GK- Bella
Defence - LK, Aine
Midfield - Talia, Ivy, Eloise
Striker - Eva Rose (Captain)
Subs - Roise, Izzy
Like the game before both teams had a mixture of players again due to illness.
Another smashing performance from this team with the girls starting the game off very strong and getting on the front foot and playing a lovely brand of football which the watching on crowd were excited to see.
Eva Rose starting well up front and keeping the LR defence honest with Talia, Eloise running the wings like wild horses on the loose and winning the ball back at every opportunity and attacking at ease.
Ivy played one her best games in a Crewe shirt in central midfield - literally ran herself into the colour red.
Bella in goals was mainly untroubled busy displayed her super passing abilities when needed, LK and Aine are like a modern day Ferdinand and Vidic, at times we feel these girls would tackle a brick wall if there was a ball beside it - truly a great defensive display from these two today.
Roise and Izzy came onto the pitch and absolutely terrified the LR defence with some super skills with Roise reminding us all of her super ball skills and quick feet, Izzy showed her full bag of tricks during the game and also nabbed a few quick fire goals in a stunning cameo during the game.
Talia, Eloise also getting in the score sheet but the biggest cheer of all was when Captain Eva Rose scored her first ever goal and then followed up with a quick second goal not long after, the coaches were that happy we nearly did some Cart Wheels we were that excited for her.
Again like the first game this bunch of girls have come on so well these past few months and will continue to do so.
This team and overall squad of girls should be very proud of themselves not just today's performance but their overall efforts to date, truly amazing girls.
Hopefully all the sick girls get better soon
🔴⚪2018s v Crumlin Utd⚪🔴
Great matches today. All the boys loved it. Crumlin defended best the could with a player on the line most of the match but the boys pressured the full match on both pitches winning each encounter. We played different teams each 12 mins but Crumlin didn't have the answers to the boys skills and energy.
So many improvements all round.
Everyone was player of the match. Everyone deserved it.
Cold day for all so thank you for coming today to support the boys.
Happy Saturday. Merry Xmas for anyone who has now switched off for the year.
*2018 Boys Match Report*
(vrs Hillsborough Boys)
The boys finished off their 2024 matches at Crewe Park agaisnt a good Hillsborough boys team.
In our white Urban Events tops (to avoid a kit clash) the boys took full advantage of the home crowd and were 2 goals up in the first minute.
Tonight was a perfect game to allow all the boys the chance to play in each different position.
We had Jackson and Connla showing off their skills and looking dangerous whilst on the ball.
Billy and Johnny were all over the pitch and followed their instructions perfectly.
DC had his football head on and made some quick decisions (quick kick ins) which resulted in comfortable goals for the team.
A really good performance from the boys tonight who looked very convincing.
Well done boys! 🔴⚪
*2017 Girls vrs 2018 Boys Match Report*
The rivalry has begun! In an end to end game at Crewe Park, whilst sporting our new match tops the boys and girls had fun!
The Girls - Fiona, Harper, Eva Rose, Mollie, Emelie & Olivia
The Boys - Adam , Hunter , Fionn, Killian, Frankie & Connor
Every tackle was hard fought for and there was a winning mentally on the pitch.
We witnessed some excellent goals and good teamwork from both teams.
Most importantly the game was topped off with smiles and hand shakes with a mention until next time!
Well done boys and girls🔴⚪
🔴⚪2016 Colts v Taughmonagh⚪🔴
Tough game tonight for the boys against a strong Taughmonagh side.
Adan did well in nets and made some really good saves. He distributed the ball well from goal kicks and from out of his hands.
Reuben and Rossa did well in defence. They stuck to their man and didn’t shy away from the physical side of the game. They intercepted the ball well and started the majority of our attacks.
Ciarán, Kealan and Mark did well in midfield. They battled hard against a tough midfield, making some really important tackles. When they had the ball they took their touch well and knew when to dribble and when to pass.
Ben, Joseph and Rhys did well in midfield and up front. They never stopped running and closed their man down well. They created a few chances for each other and Rhys bagged himself a well deserved goal after a good team move.
MOTM today was Rhys. He never stopped running with and without the ball. He was on the end of a few hard tackles but he kept going and got his name on the scoresheet.
🔴⚪2016 v Castlewellan⚪🔴
Friday night football for the boys this week vs Castlewellan. An enjoyable game of football to watch which saw the lads run out winners to keep their unbeaten run going.
First half was both teams figuring each other out and was back and forward without many major chances, but a few here or there which on another day the boys would have taken!
Second half seen the lads settle down, get the ball down and start to pass and move for eachother and get some joy attacking. Darragh was unreal up and down the left hand side and was rewarded with 2 well taken goals.
*POTM*- Iarla Doc ⚽️
Absolutely amazing last night, a rock defensively and so important for us setting up attacks with his passing out from the back. The referee made sure to mention the number 4 as the best player on the pitch which was good because we’d already picked him out 😂
A 10/10 kid with a great attitude and manners. He’s been with us from the start of our 2016 adventure and we absolutely love having him as part of our team.
Well done mate and keep working hard to improve 💪🏼 ⚽️
Another strong performance from the boys who have earned their Christmas break with their performances at matches and their work done at training every Monday and Wednesday.
A big thank you to our 2016 sponsors, Roy Kennedy Fuels and Heat Direct who have the boys looking 10/10 on matchdays ❤️⚽️
