The club are delighted to announce Barry Baggley as the new First Team Manager at Crewe Park. He is joined by Chris O’Kane as Assistant Manager. The duo will work alongside the existing backroom staff of Craig Leworthy, Conor McCarthy, Eddie Doole and Olwyn Dawson.
Barry comes to the club with a wealth of experience, and success, at Intermediate Level. Having guided Rosario FC from 1B in the Amateur League to the Premier Division, he has a proven track record of bringing the best out of players, and at Rosario was instrumental in their rise back to the top table of the Amateur League.
It was a big wrench for Barry to leave the club where he played and managed for nearly 13 years. However he felt it was the right time for a fresh challenge and saw Crewe as the perfect place do do that, ‘Crewe have absolutely fantastic facilities and are, and always have been, a very ambitious club both on and off the pitch. I feel that my own ambition is matched by the club and I hope it can be the beginning of another successful period in the history of the club’.
With a superb support staff alongside Barry we are sure he will fit in well at Crewe Park and we wish him a long and successful stay with us.
There is also news on the U23’s as Anto Moran and Mark Taylor take over the reigns. Anto and Mark take their first steps into senior management having been with both Oxford Sunnyside and Annagh United with National League sides. They have been an ever present at senior Crewe games over the past couple of years and we are delighted that they have been able to make the commitment to our u23 side with some fantastic young prospects in that squad.
The club would also like to express our sincere thanks to Scott Bingham and Craig Leworthy who have been in charge of the Firsts over the past 2 months. They came in at a very difficult time and changed the fortunes of the squad very quickly. Both are Crewe men through and through and Scott remains as part of the football committee.
