2020/21 Season Voided

It was announced tonight that both the First team and Reserve team leagues have been Null and Voided for the 2020/21 season. In a statement the Mid Ulster Football League said;

‘At a committee meeting held this evening, Monday 1st March 2021, the prior Mid Ulster Football League management committee recommendation notice to void the 2020-21 season was considered further after responses from the member teams.  Following overwhelming support by the teams the recommendation was ratified by a unanimous decision tonight by the committee to void the 2020-21 season.   The committee would like to place  on record its thanks to all clubs for their patience as this was not an easy decision to make for the League.’

Whilst the MUFL took steps to get the league underway, with our First team having played 9 games, the impact of Covid and associated lockdowns proved too much to get the majority of games completed.

Attention now turns to our Ladies and hopefully their season will kick off once the current restrictions are eased and our Men’s team look forward to what we hope can be an uninterrupted and safe 2021/22 season.

We await an update from the Executive in respect of the Youth football but hopefully we can get our kids back playing before the summer.
