Reserves Close Out Season With Cup Triumph

The Reserves rounded off the Senior men’s season with victory in the final of the O’Hara Cup at Cheney Park.

It took a solitary goal from Ronan Hamill with 20 minutes left to settle a tight contest against Oxford Sunnyside. Captain Mick O’Neill lifted another trophy for the Reserves and they also finished a very respectable 7th in their first season back in the Reserve Championship. Many thanks to Peter, Gary, Bean and Gerard for all their help this season.

We would like to wish Oxford the best of luck in Monday nights PIL promotion playoff against Coagh United. Whilst it was difficult for our First team to lose the league title on goal difference Oxford are very worthy Champions and hopefully they can secure promotion to the PIL.

We would again place on record our thanks to Eamonn McCarthy and Sean Brown (Snr) for their dedication and commitment over the past few years with the First team. Thanks also to Craig Leworthy who is remaining with the club as is our ever present kit man, Eddie!

Unfortunately with such a long season, and playing well into June, it means a very short turnaround for next season. However preseason is only a few weeks away and we look forward to another competitive campaign ahead for both of our senior teams.
